2 Chronicles 8:11 NTV

There are things that are going to look good, I can do them, but I should not. As Paul said: “Everything is licit to me, but not everything is beneficial, nor everything builds up.” You can get busy doing a lot of things and not be effective for what God called you to do, because it is not about doing, but about obeying.

Solomon married pharaoh’s daughter to secure a military alliance with Egypt. Solomon had made life decisions that, in the natural, had a reason to be and were strategic, but for God, they were not right. Solomon knew that his marriage was not pleasing to God. God had given him an order which he did not obey. That order was: “Do not marry foreign women” (Deuteronomy 7:3-4), because they would be the cause of his downfall by inducing him into idolatry (1 Kings:1-11).

We are free to choose, but we are also responsible for what we choose, and it is what we pay less attention to.

This was the specific area of his life to which Solomon did not pay attention to and this area became his weak point which took him to constantly fall from grace to the extent of drawing away from God. It does not matter how good or spiritual we are in most areas of our life, if one area is not surrendered to God, it can fall, and it should be noted that no one falls overnight.

Protect every area of your life, especially your sentimental area, your relations area. Do not give sin any place in your life, no matter how small, insignificant, or normal it may seem. Remember that the giant is not born a giant.

GOD ALWAYS ARRIVES JUST IN TIME
