It is one thing to listen to pleasant sounds that you like and another to listen to unpleasant sounds, we call these sounds: noise, that which makes us blur, distracts, annoys us, however, life is full of those sounds and that is why we end up desperate, frustrated, tired and maybe bored.
Some of those daily noises are: offenses, curses, lawsuits, bad news, contempt, lies, unforgiveness, etc., all this robs us of peace.
God speaks through Moses to give advice to the people of Israel, advice that would bring daily blessings to their families: if you hear what God says.
To live life and enjoy each day, we must learn to distinguish noise from the true sound that gives life, that sound is the words of God that give life and peace.
