Jesus was clear in telling us that in this life, in this world, we would go through times of affliction, yet He declared, «Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world. In other words, Jesus tells us that He is ready to help those who need His counsel, for He has already overcome and He can make you overcome too.
It is not the same to try empirically to achieve goals as it is to be guided by someone who has already achieved them and knows how to do it.
It all depends on you, if you want to continue living by trial and error or if you want Jesus to guide your steps.
God is always JUST IN TIME.
