Micah: 6:6-8 NLT

Have you ever heard or said phrases such as: “It seems to me like,” or “I consider that,” or “I presume that,” or I believe that?” All these phrases guide us towards the topic that I want to communicate to you today: Presumption or obedience.

Presumption is based on pride, haughtiness. It leads us to the point of making conclusions about certain situations that we consider to be right, and it is us who are always right. We think that, due to our titles or experience, what we say is the most appropriate; but, if we think in this manner, does it mean we are right?

In the above Bible verse, prophet Micah asks several questions to the people who were precisely at that point because they boasted of “great spiritual condition.” They presumed they were fine because of the offerings and all the other things they were giving God, so he gives them a strong wakeup call: “You are not doing what God wants but what you presume or believe God wants,” and there is a great difference there.

Perhaps the same thing is happening to us today. Our pride is making us conceited, and we have forgotten that what pleases God the most is obedience. How are you living your life today: Presuming or obeying God?

God always arrives JUST IN TIME
