Galatians 2:18 NLT

How many times have we wanted to go back in time, to go back, even though we know it is not the right thing to do, it seems that we are used to repeating history and not wanting to get out of it.

History repeats itself over and over again, it happened to the people of Israel in the wilderness, it happened to a man who did not listen and rebuilt the city that God had said should not be rebuilt, Jericho the city of the moon goddess. This has a deep meaning because it was believed that the moon influenced the emotions of the people, we could understand that Jericho alluded to living subject to the emotions, what the apostle Paul calls the old man vitiated by the deceitful desires of the flesh, which is why it was the first place that Israel was to destroy and not build again.

This indicates the destruction of the old man nailed with Christ on the cross, the cross marks the end of our fallen humanity to lead to our resurrection to true life in Christ.

To raise Jericho would mean going back to the old life from which God brought me out, which would have great consequences not only for us but also for our descendants.

Paul mentions the following text in Galatians 2:18 «But I am a sinner if I build up again the old system of the law which I have already broken down».

It reminds me of the people of Israel in the desert complaining and wanting to return to Egypt when they had already been taken out to live in freedom. Two important points emerge:

Why do you want to revive what has already been nailed to the cross?

It is time to let go and not take again.

God always comes JUST IN TIME
