REQUIREMENTS FOR AN EFFECTIVE PRAYER

SERIE: THE TRUE PRAYER 

Matthew 6:5-8

An effective relationship requires a good intention and a good motivation. There has to be a good disposition in order to correctly establish a friendship which will grow into a relationship.

This is what Jesus taught us in the following theme: “Prayer is the source of power and it is the instrument to have a relationship with God,” but it has to be accompanied of three important requirements, because it is not only about talking for the sake of talking.  

The first requirement is ATTITUDE. While praying, attitude is important, consequently, Jesus mentions the following:

• When you pray do not pray like the hypocrites pray. Matthew 6:5
• Do not use empty words and repetitions. Matthew 6:7
• Pray in secret with the door close. Matthew 6:6
• Go in your room, your intimate place, your place of comfort where you feel at ease to establish this relationship. YOU MUST GO IN EAGER TO PRAY.
• Close the door. It will be a personal and secret relationship with God. What I talk to God about, stays there.
